If one sees nothing wrong with stripping and can not see the stress the female shows each time it is caught and stripped, then one is free to strip without a moral problem. i personally do not strip my females unless it is the only option. i dont see anything morally wrong with doing so, i just prefer to let the parents raise fry and observe their "natural" behavior. Stripping eggs/fry, when done correctly, causes no harm and little stress to the fish. Lets not forget ...

I too am having problems with these 3 bulletins. The June 2009 says that there is an error and that the page is not found on cichlidae.com, the other 2 just dont load properly. Didnt checkk all, but i dont seem to have the problems with other bulletins.

Tilapia ( Oreochromis, Sarotherodon,etc) are native to Africa, though they are considered one of, if not the most, invasive fish in the world. Dempseys also are from North and Central America. that would entirely depend on the species which you are considering...generally you should be OK against hybridization if you wanted to mix something like Angles and Geophagus or something like that but certain species can inter-breed. What do you have?
