Re: Paratheraps Bifasciatus

They may need some other big fish to fight against, instead of fighting each other. But I had seen a lot of cichlids kept in pair and they spawn with no problems. Curious thing. Is this a matter of luck?

Re: Paratheraps Bifasciatus

Hello,

Still nothing. My female is more agressive, but the male is not, sometimes she is more excited than him, and bites him and he scares and runs.

I used a big stone for the spawn, but nothing yet.

Any advice?

Paratheraps Bifasciatus

Hello, I left my fish 2 weeks, and when I came back, I found a rare behavior in my adult bifasciatus. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcamvBSSebk&feature=youtu.be Since I introduced the male 6 months ago, the male were chasing the female, dominating her, and biting her. She was scared of him and with...

Re: Paratheraps hartwegi preparing to spawn

I find very similar the Hartwegi to Bifasciatus just as synspilus to melanurus or coatzacoalcos to zonatus.

Great fish!

Re: Centals & Plants?

Good contribution. Always good posts from one of the bests aquarists in this world.

But if a big fish tries to reorder the tank, the plants will be removed, please inform us how is the behavior of the fish trough the time.

Regards.

Re: Paratheraps Hartwegi

Wow! those are beautiful. Are they F0?, where do you find that variety? / i think i will start a search of P. Hartwegi, because i like it a lot. I have a 480 liter tank, maybe i could get a pair on it.

If someone have P. Hartwegi, please share some photos.

Re: Cryptoheros sp. 'honduran red point' spawn

Oh yes! And your fingers when carrying out aquarium maintenance I guess, hahaha. They are very brave. It would be an espectacular show to see how they can hold back a triple sized fish. If you have a video of your own or find someone not of your own, i would love you to post it here! What are you f...

Re: Colourful dorsal

I am very amazed. Completely out of words. It is really interesting how the V. Regani develop the intensity of its colour with the past of time. I have a very young regani, but nothing compared to this fully grown sample. Do you have the breeding pair?, or just unpaired. The sp. coatzacoalcos are re...
