greyish black spots again

Post by jimjim » Wed Feb 08, 2006 1:17 am

I'm not sure if it is fungus, it does not look like something actually on them, but more like a discoloration of their actual tissue, and it is consistently only around the tip of the mouth and lips. Is it possible for fish to bruise, as they chase each other around the tank on occasion and at such high rates of speed that they often smash into the glass or a tank ornament before the chase ceases. Thanks again, I will take some pictures tomorrow and put them up as I have a new camera that should be able to show the detail.

jimjim,

Well a picture might help. Yes they can bruse them selves, that is a possibility. But if you really want to know, you should catch your fish and look at it under a magnifying glass. Even try taking a Q-tip and see if it wipes off. If it is a fungus, the q-tip should show some signs of it. Just a thought.
