Hi Adog,

If you have a film on the surface of your water it could be from a couple of things. Feeding too much food, and it is a residue. Or not cleaning your tank properly. You need to wipe around the top of your water line, your cover, and the top of your cover. Also increasing the amount of water you change should prevent this also. The only other thing I would mention is if your filter/pump is leaking oil, sometimes you can get a residue also. So try working on this list, and maybe thru the process of elimination you can figure out what the cause is, and how to correct it.
