48 gallon community tank setup

Post by garnpet » Fri May 06, 2005 3:33 pm

I am purchasing a used 48 gallon tank this week with a ton of plants.

I was thinking of setting up the tank with a dozen neon tetras, another dozen of a small tetra (black neon, rummy nose, ???), some cories and I would like to add some Rams to the tank as well (Bolivian Rams if I can find them)

How many and of what sex should be Rams be? I am not overly interested in having the Rams breed, but if it happens that's ok.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Garnpet,

Sounds like a nice tank in the making! I would think you could get away with about 4. I think it is best to buy some juveniles, it would be nice if you could get two females and two males, but in your size of tank, whatever the ratio turns out, you should be fine.
