During the work with the Tanganyika Sand-dweller section I have been in contact with many people, discussing topics related to the sand-dwelling species of Lake Tanganyika. I thought it would be a good idea to interview some of these people, so others could benefit from their knowledge and experiences.

A wide range of topics has been discussed, from aquarium keeping, observations at first hand in Lake Tanganyika, to taxonomical problems and I hope there should be some of interest for all readers.

I’m very pleased that so many has agreed on doing these interviews and I want to express my sincere gratitude to the participants for taking their time off to answer my questions. It’s has been a pleasure!

Chituta, Lake Tanganyika

The western coast in Chituta Bay, Zambia, where the steep rocky cliffs meets the sandfloor 40 meter below the surface of the water, is one of the most exiting localities when it comes to sand-dwelling species, harboring such interesting cichlids as Xenotilapia sp "red princess", X. sp. "fluorescent green" and X. sp. "papilio sunflower". Chituta and the species inhabiting it are just one of the subjects that will be discussed in the "Sand-dweller Talk" interviews.
