shadow stalking

Context: Behavior.

Behaviour in which fish swim behind another species (of fish or large invertebrate) that stirs up the substrate in search of food. Then, the stalkers take the opportunity and either steal food from the larger animal (see kleptoparasitism), or eat particles ommitted by it.
