• Tylochromis macrophthalmus David, 1936, With type locality at Albertville [Kalemie], Zaire [Democratic Republic of Congo], Lake Tanganyika. Determiner: Steinhaus, 2007.

Conservation: Callochromis macrops is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2006).
