Inhabited countries: Costa Rica (native), Ecuador (native), Honduras (native), Mexico (introduced), Nicaragua (native), El Salvador (introduced).

Habitats: Laguna Noh (Mexico, exotic), Río Babahoyo (Ecuador, native), Rio Danto (Honduras, native).

Conservation: Parachromis managuensis is not evaluated by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (2008).
