Male in lake Tanganyika Directly north of Ikola at the villages of Isengule, Kobogo and Kalya, you find a unique variant of Simochromis babaulti The latter species at Ikola [Tanzania] is now present only in an incredibly small population. The underwater biotope at the location consists nowadays mostly of sandy surfaces with some scattered stones and rocks. On land, however, there is a long row of rocks along the shoreline.
