Highly respected and experienced aquarist, Pam has visited cichlid habitats around the world, and bred in her's and her husband Gary fish house hundreds of cichlid species. Melanochromis loriae Johnson, 1975
最初命名為 Melanochromis loriae:
- Johnson, Donald. 1975. "More new Malawi cichlids". Today's Aquarist. 2 (1); po 16-18 (crc00085).
同種異名:
- Melanochromis parallelus Burgess & Axelrod, 1976, 其模式產地在 Lake Malawi. 鑑定者: Konings, 2012.
保育: Melanochromis loriae 被評鑑為國際自然保育聯盟瀕危物種紅皮書名單中的 (VU) 易危的 (2006). Populations in peril are not known although it is only very common at Ndumbi Rocks, Likoma Island; at other localities Melanochromis loriae is often not regularly encountered.
