• Parectodus lestradei Poll, 1942, With type locality at Nyanza, Lake Tanganyika. Determiner: Greenwood, 1978.
• Xenotilapia materfamilias Poll , 1943, With type locality at Albertville [Kalemie], Zaire [Democratic Republic of Congo], Lake Tanganyika.. Determiner: Poll, 1956.

Conservation: Xenotilapia boulengeri is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2006).
