• Crenicichla dorsocellata Haseman, 1911, With type locality at Rio Parahyba at Campos, Brazil. Determiner: Kullander, 2006.
• Crenicichla biocelata von Ihering, 1914, With type locality at Rio Doce, Espirito Santo, Brazil. Determiner: Ploeg, 1991.

Conservation: Crenicichla lacustris is not evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species
