保育: Apistogramma baenschi 未被国际自然保护联盟（IUCN）在濒危物种红色名录中为自然保育进行评估The habitat is extremely fragile because of the limited distribution of the species. Overfishing may be a concern, because the species is popular and many exporters are collecting them in large numbers. There is also extensive logging in the area.
