Fossorochromis rostratus (Boulenger, 1899)
版本
最初命名為 Tilapia rostrata:

同種異名:
- Haplochromis macrorhynchus Regan , 1922, 其模式產地在 Lake Malawi, southeastern Africa. 鑑定者: Eccles, 1989.
保育: Fossorochromis rostratus 被評鑑為國際自然保育聯盟瀕危物種紅皮書名單中的 (LC) 無危 (2006). 雖然Fossorochromis rostratus出現在近岸的開放沙地水域且應該非常容易因非洲漁民使用圍網所施加的龐大魚撈壓力而受害，但這種魚似乎能藉由鑽入沙中等到網子通過之後再鑽出的方式來避免經過的網子。當然有些個體會被撈到但大多數地方的Fossorochromis rostratus仍是淺水沙地常見的居民。.
