Cryptoheros septemfasciatus (Regan, 1908)
Original description as Cichlosoma (Archocentrus) septemfasciatum:

Conservation: Cryptoheros septemfasciatus is not evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened speciesWhile part of the area of distribution of Cryptoheros septemfasciatus is located inside biosphere reserves in Costa Rica, the lowlands in the southern part of their range is however located in the banana plantations area of Costa Rica in the Limon province, where rivers have been severely affected by their modification, the fertilizers and insecticides used in the banana farming industry. Having this cichlid such a reduced distribution range, this can be of concern to the populations’ stability.
