Protomelas insignis (Trewavas, 1935)
最初命名為 Haplochromis insignis:

保育: Protomelas insignis 被評鑑為國際自然保育聯盟瀕危物種紅皮書名單中的 (LC) 無危 (2006). As is common for specialist predatory cichlids Protomelas insignis is nowhere common in the lake and there are no indications that this species is threatened by over-fishing anywhere in the lake.
