Artenschutz: Metriaclima emmiltos wurde durch die Internationale Union für die Erhaltung der Natur (IUZN) in der Roten Liste bedrohter Arten bewertet als (VU) potentiell gefährdet (2006). Although the Mphanga Rock population is regularly fished for the aquarium hobby, I have not noticed a decline in population density over a period of about 20 years. The population density at Luwino Reef is much lower but these are not collected for the hobby or otherwise, and remains stable.
