• Lamprologus brevianalis Boulenger, 1906, With type locality at Niamkolo, Zambia, Lake Tanganyika. Determiner: Poll, 1946.
• Lamprologus marginatus Boulenger, 1914, With type locality at Songwe and Vua, Lake Tanganyika. Determiner: Poll, 1946.

Conservation: Neolamprologus tetracanthus is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2006).
