• Meinken, Hermann. 1965. "Über eine neue Gattung und Art der Familie Cichlidae aus Peru (Pisces, Percoidea, Cichlidae)". Senckenbergiana biologica. v. 46 (n. 1); pp. 47-53 (crc01262).

Type species: Apistogrammoides pucallpaensis Meinken, 1965 (original designation).
