sexing Hypselecara Temporalis

Postby SuperLeo » Mon Apr 24, 2006 9:55 pm

hi all

Could anybody here help me showing any Hypselecara Temporalis adult photos (male and female) to help me to determinate if I have two males or two females.
I need to compare becase I can obtain a "sure male" but I'm not sure what sex are my two Temporalis, I only sure they're not a pair and I think they are more close to be two males than to be two females

I will be thankful if somebody has a good pair of photos

Thanks

I've no photos but my females had a good hump like the non dominant males. The size in different and the females are smaller. Have you got a photo of yours?

Ciao Enrico
p.s. I've found these (pair): http://www.tangledupincichlids.com/images/temp1.jpg

Hi Ribstick,
Would you happen to know the location of where your fish were collected or are they captive bred??

The fish I have seen exported from Peru have yellow on them. Your fish appear to be mostly red, so I was wondering where they were from.

Colors and markings in H. temporalis tend to be quite variable depending on geographical origin. Me too I would like to know what geographical variatiojn of H. tmporalis shows more red like mine.
