ACA convention

Postby Ken Grimmett » Tue Apr 03, 2012 8:59 pm

I wanted to see what the room rates were for the convention, but, I could not get them to come up with out (I think) putting down a credit card first.
Its at the Whynham resort so it may be pricey....Does anyone know?

I just regristered with their rewards program and I am thinking about switching hotel's untill I can get a few free nights. Once again I will have to see what the deal is..

The Rusty Wessel Field trip looks like it could be fun.....But it would mean 3 nights..and a long drive 5/6 hours?

convoy anyone....

I couldn't get the room rates to come up using some computers, and could on others. The rate's about $100/night plus tax, a little lower than some recent ACAs. I made my reservations from the library!

I found the Days Inn that is right down the road for under $60 a night. As much as I wanted to stay at the main hotel this allows me to stay longer. I am not planning on selling fish and really will only be sleeping there so I figured why not save the money on a room and spend it on fish. haha
Native Fishes Rule!!! Go sample some streams near you!!!
Of course Cichlids Rule Too!!!

Is it Fish or Fishes??? Do you know how to use them correctly??

I have to think about it, in other words I don't want to spend the $ this week.
I have a few options that would allow me to stay for free close to the hotel. I just saw that I'm two nights away from renewing my platimun level again at Holliday Inns. I maybe able to get a free night with Wydnham program by switching my hotel prefference. I mapped it out from my house to the aca hotel is 345 miles, or 5 solid hours driving. Take in a few 10 minute delays and 1/2 hour stop - you have a 6 hour drive. So if I do this - I would leave Thursday evening. Us my points and grab a hotel by the state line for the night and then arrive at the hotel around 10 am Friday. I don't like spending fish $ on rooms - But I may have something to sell so that could lessen the cost.

Any body planning on leaving Thursday - I will have One son with me, and maybe my wife...

I just spoke to Joe Fleckenstein via email on 4-23-12 (he's with the Circle City Aquarium Club) There are approximately 60 seats left for the tour to Rusty Wessel's place.

After all the work last year, I said I would never go again. That lasted until the January.
I am signed up and ready to go.
