NANDOPSIS HAITIENSIS

Postby MEPHISTOCICHLIDS » Tue Mar 27, 2012 1:48 am

Hi all, I want to ask, does anyone of you experience with breeding this species? I am particularly interested in youth and food requirements for water. Thank you in advance for any advice.

When I had a breeding pair, they spawned many times. They like very clean, warm water high 80s, at an inch the young would start killing each other. The only way I was able to keep them from stressing each other into bloat is to keep them separated, each an individual compartment.

I had a similar problem with Parachromis motaguensae. I ended up leaving the fry with the parents, who ignored them - resulting in about 10 @ 7 cm.

Don't know about hatiensis, but definitely worth the try

Hi Mephistocichlids.

I met a little dream. Today I brought a rarity in Slovakia - Nandopsis haitiensis. Finally I managed to get it. I hope to survive to adulthood. Currently I have them in a separate tank. Later, when they grow up they brought up to 1350 liter tank.

If I can advise: you have to keep them at least 80-86s F.

Here is a photo of my juveline:
