Ps. Aurora or Metriaclima Aurora

Postby Tr182md » Mon Feb 06, 2012 1:18 am

I recently purchased a group of 3 Aurora and was thinking that one of the "females" looks different than the other two. Her coloration is one thing what bothers me is her mouth shape. Rather than a typical Pseudotropheus mouth and head she appears to have a much longer jaw and angled down rather than straight.

What do you think?

Yes, that is what I am thinking. I want to return that middle fish and try for two more females he has. I just don't like the mouth. Not pseudotropheus to me.

Not sure how this fish got in there. He says the tank had Aurora and immature Frontosa.

Not Malawian, that's sure, certainly Victorian cichlid

could be female Astatoreochromis alluaudi.

Yes today greeted me by flashing horizontal stripes. Time for more serious conversation with seller about this otherwise pretty fish.
