Sorry Willem....
@Michael: I'd say it's the same species. Where is it from?
Cheers, m

Thanks Michi,

I have them from a shop they where labeled as Astyanax bimaculatus, That was the only thing i know about them. They are also older than the fish in the first picture.

Sorry Willem, Yes, talk about Cichlids on a cichlidforum is also a good idea ;) And your movie is amazing 8)

Hehe, sorry for OT, but it was interesting. Anyway the ciklids in the movie are really fantastic! I need more tanks!

Hi Michael,
in that case is might be a SA species. While the Astyanax from MX are pretty easy to keep apart, that is not necessarily true for the SA species (or even the ones from southern CA). E.g., I have a hard time keeping apart A. aeneus and A. nasutus. If that thing is from SA, I'd take my opinion with much caution!
Cheers, m

Hi MIchi!
Aeneus are quite aggressive with your back and legs  , expecially in misol-ha, cenote escondido and rio lacantun.
Altior never bite me. SA are much more fragile and they die or simulate death when you catch them. Never seen in mexicans.

Ciao Enrico
