Hi Marko, i bought these rostratus in a town called Woudenberg, the Netherlands. At that time there were only 5 left, but it's a nice little group i think.

The other day i heard about a guy from Croatia who was looking for rostratus. He bought them in the Netherlands as well in a petshop in a town called Houten (the Netherlands). Are you that fellow Marko? Do you have rostratus from Holland? :)

I think it's one of the most beautiful species of central America.

How do you think about it?

 that is me! now every one will know I am addict to rostratus and the price will go to the sky  I took as well 5 rostratus from MAfish. I would like to take more but there were any more left. But they look just like yours so maybe they are brothers. How are your doing?

It is big difference between the Lacustrine and Riverine types. Lacustrine types are much taller with less spangles. The Riverine type has more spangles, are more elongated.
As far I know Lacustrine types from Lago Nicaraguan and Riverine Costa Rican, other may add different location.
Here is my A.Rostratus thread, you may gather some valuable information and look at the pictures.

Beautiful indeed. Nice video. And yes, I believe your fish riverine.
Eric, couple of questions:
Does those Rostratus from the video, breed and have fry in that community tank, including tank busters like Synspilum and Pearsei??! Or they had to be moved after they pair up and your fish was brough up in separate tank?
Also, how big/old the parents. If possible can you ask the condition when they (Rostratus parents) start show mating behavior? Water temp, Ph, etc. Also diet.
I really want to breed my A.Rostratus, so that’s why I am interesting about all. For now they around 1.5 y old and largest being about 12 cm and they show no interest to each other. I have group of 5.

Alex, i have to ask the man who has made that video. I think it's gonna take a while...but i'll let you know ofcourse.
I think and heard that its's rather difficult to breed rostratums, so it's a challenge for all of us.
I recently spoke the man and he wants to visit me, for looking "his" juveniles. Think he can tell me a lot of stuff about them parents.

Alex, will do....

My A.rostratus doing fine, eating good and chasing each other all day.
When i walk trough the livingroom the fishes are all beggin' for food, just like little oscars you know....
Beggin and showing of, that's what they do most of the time.
The biggest fish of the rostratus group thinks he's the leader of the pack. Specially at dinner time....

The Nicaraguense are getting their beautiful colours now. The female is getting very beautiful blue colour.
