Spawning Kribs

Postby grottosandfins » Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:10 pm

My Kribs finally successfully spawned BUT the day after the eggs hatched, all but 3 of the wrigglers are gone. Had approximately 75 or so. I presume they will all be gone by tomorrow. As this is the first time they spawned I'm not too worried, but maybe I'm missing something. Suggestions?

It's possible that they were eaten by new parents or some other fish in the tank. It's also entirely possible that the parents have moved the fry to a different spot in the tank. Just keep an eye on the tank for the next little while.

It's also very common for this to happen the first or second time!!...Don't give up and good luck!!

Just wondering, what size tank did you spawn the Kribs in?

If the parents are still 'fussing' over a particular area, chances are they've stashed the fry in hiding.
