Not yet Alex. The family and I are selling our house and will be moving into a bigger house soon. At that point I'd like to add another tank or two I'll have to decide between a pair of Jags or a pair of Odo's. Maybe I can talk the wife into a pair of both. 8)

Tiger growing like weed!
In my 6 ' tank rowdy crowd he is not trying to be a boss anymore, but I am sure he will when adult, he got all potential for it.
Oh, almost forgot, he LOVE to hunt Convict fry... along with orange fin Botia :D

RTM gain another inch or so. No more Convict fry despite veracious parents, just can't dealt with this prolific hunter.

I sold my pair of red motas to someone who is very happy with them, but some 8 fry @ 2-3 cm remained - so I'll raise them for a while, and see what happens. I also have a spare red male which might pair of with one of the females

I also had a pair of 'normal' mota's, and 1 young. The male died - swimbladder problem - and now the young seems to develop into a beautifull male - I'm not complaining

Sorry about loosing your fish. I am myself lost 11" 2.5 y old male Rocio. He was a really show piece, beautiful and colorful with good manners. He starts suffer from swim bladder disorder and it took very long time till the end, no meter what I did. It was hard to look at him.
I have gut feeling that large algae sinking pellets I occasionally gives and he swallows may contribute to this condition.
Alex
p.s. BTW What is the size of your adult Mota's?

The pair I sold was male some 30 - 35 cm, the female arond 25
The male I lost was bigger than his colleagae
The red male I still have is around 25-30 cm
the other 2 I'd guess approximately 20 cm

I can't say I saw them growing, but the red male was more slender than the bulky normal one
the female too, but the size difference might be due to a lack of a mate for the red female - perhaps allowing her to grow larger than she would have done otherwise

But yes, Motaguensae definitely grow larger then fridrichsthalli or loissellei
