Helostoma temminckii

Postby Alex Odesit » Sun Nov 23, 2008 4:10 pm

Any one else here, on board fun of these guys?
I don't understand myself why, but I have special feeling to them.
Largest I currently have 4.5" and live in 6' tank with large cichlids.
Small group of 3, size a little over 3" in 90 gal.
I always wish to grow some of them to the size I have read numerous of the time they can achieve.
Very long living species, my son have one from 1992 and he is not doing much in sense of maintenance etc. He (Kisser) is around 6" only (tank is 29 gal, not much space to grow).

I like the green natural variety myself. Haven't seen them for sale in some time.
