GSG Updates

Postby Mack Emmons » Fri Apr 03, 2009 7:56 pm

Okay, the first update:

GSG has a new website, http://gymnogeophagus.com.

We are still working to track down information for the other profiles, so if you have anything that can be used. Please pm me, or email me at mack@gymnogeophagus.com

We are also looking for pictures, so again if you have any you would like to share, please pm or email me.

On another note, since starting a few weeks ago, we have raised $0.86 USD through advertisement. Its not much, buts a great start.

A bit of an update:
Some info and pics added, along with some sections including the sponsor and links section.

Today we did some trial runs at making some T-shirts. They turned out well, simple but nice. We hope to sell some through the site to raise money.

Alright, the GSG now has shirts available for order. All proceeds will go towards Gymnogeophagus research.

We restructured the layout for the species pages, to make them more user friendly, and search engine friendly. Let us know what you think.

This may be the funniest aquarium related T-shirt design I have ever seen:
Image

Perhaps second only to Oddball Aquatics "We glue small animals to rocks" Coral Frag T-shirt...
I'm not an aquatic biologist...I just play one on the internet.

Nobody will understand you

Even on a aquarium convention you might be asked to remouve the 'offending' tekst

This is the idea in a sense. For those that understand, it will bring a good laugh. For those that don't, it will still make them laugh, but will hopefully leave them confused enough to check out the site and become a little more educated.

Well, this update is long overdue. Since the last post, the following has been added or changed:

Added illustrated dichotomous key.
Added species photographs.
Added new article.
Added meristic and morphological data for select species. More species data to be added in the coming days.
Changes made to the structure of the profiles.

Stay tuned for more. And thanks to all who have taken the time to visit the site and contribute to the information. Everything helps put the GSG closer to it's goals.
