I thought: why not show the sex life of Caquetaia umbrifera.




a youngster. mind you: this guy will eventually grow to about 80cm





this male is only half grown: 35 cm





the couple (notice the difference in coloration)





this picture clearly shows umbrifera is a piscivore, some mouth





the female clears the rock......





and puts her eggs on it.





the male does his job





the wrigglers are chewn from their eggshells one by one: fascinating!

Great Shots! Umbie are a great pet. I unfortunately had to get rid of my large male recently due to a move. I plan on keeping another in the future.
