I just returned from the Amazon (Peru & Colombia). I looked at your photos. I cannot ID the fish in the first 2 photos. The photos show very few useful features for identification. They might be A. sp. Wangenflecken/Cheek-spots, based on the arched posterior vertical bars. The next 2 photos show a species that belongs to the pertensis-group, probably A. cf. pertensis. The last photo show a young fish, which makes it hard to ID. I think that it belongs to the steindachneri-group, but does not show featured that are diagnostic for a specific species.

Thank you, Hudson :)

I'm also member of www.planetcatfish.com, so catfish are interesting to me.

But the funny thing is, you, living in Manaus, found a fish I found in Uruguay - way to the south, much cooler. It is hard to understand how that can be the same species - but they do look identical

That is interesting and that is the only doubt i have about it being gracilis.
yeah planet catfish is a nice forum but my mom doesnt like me being registered in too many forums :D keep a look out for the thread thats not the only cool catfish in my tanks. i also keep a ripsaw catfish bumblebee catfish, l095, a giant whiptail, a couple unidentified ones, otocinclus macrospilus, and 5 different species of exotic cories!
thanks again bye
