Biotodoma cupido?

Postby Boupette » Sun Jul 17, 2005 2:01 pm

Hello

Anyone knows about this cichlid. I've been looking on the net but I had
contradictory informations about there behaviour. Some say it's a quiet fish to go with Discus and Pterophyllum and others says it's very agressive, eats plants and so on.

This is mt 1rst messge here, I find this Forum very interesting Long live!

Thanks. But what about the plantation? I have a 65 gallons 24 high, very wll planted with 6 medium Pt. scalare, 15 Cardinalis, a pair A. bitaeniata and 7 C. sterbai. With a pair of cupido do you think it's gonna be ok?

I keep a few B. cupido. I would not describe them as entirely peaceful, but certainly not brutes. Mine live in a planted 55 and ignore the vegetation. They were being kept with Satanoperca acuticeps which were the same size or slightly larger. The cupids were the dominant fish. Currently, they are w/ similar sized black-banded red hooks, Geophagus steindachneri (young adults), Geophagus suranumensis, and Crenicichla marmorata (juveniles, obviously) without any problem. If putting them w/ discuss, I'd definately make sure the discus are larger.
