Current Fishroom

Postby MsCichlid » Sat Sep 13, 2008 10:31 am

These are a few shots of my fishroom. All the work was done by yours truly. There is plumbing behind the long rack that I had plans to utilize, but I never got around to implementing because I did a club a favor by accepting a shipment for their event before I could finish all the work needing to be completed.

I can almost picture Dan sitting in a chair, feet out, drink in one hand and camera in the other!

Very functional fishroom with plenty of room to sit back and watch the fish (something my room lacks).

I have a picture like that...somewhere. When I find it I'll post it.

One thing has changed in the fish room though. The 120 is now planted. Thanks to GWAPA and Luis Navarro.

Thanks Mike. I used to have a section that was perpendicular to the long rack, but I cut it off to make the room more open.

No. Those are supposedly sp. Emieki from Venezuela. But I do have two of these. Do you think this is an altum?

Nice room, Francine!

All you need is another double row of tank down the middle

If I had a dollar for every time I told her the same thing (I would have $4 :D )
Francine's fishroom has grown on me, it is very nice to have room to pull up a chair and just watch the fish. I could not do that in the first version of my fishroom.

Very nice fishroom! I do envy all the open area and like just the two rows --for visual effect and for functionality. My fishroom is so small that I've had to go with 3 level racks and more of a bookstore-like aisle arrangement. I would prefer your set-up style---BTW kudos to you on some excellent DIY's 8)

Thanks! Let tell you about the process.

First, picking up the materials. In the meantime, I had to paint the room and put down new tile. I had the bar sink taken out and replaced with a utility.

The racks are based on shelves and 4 x 4 supports using lag bolts to hold it all together. I cut all the materials first then assembled the racks and painted them.

Hi

The guy in the blue shirt is barefoot which means that he completely understands that where are aquariums there´s water an do so he´s ready for any eventuality, including the possibility of having tropical water in the "webs"!...
