hi, here's a pic of the male H.thereuterion, a little rock dwelling species that lives really close to the surface.
I have a colony of 6 male for 4 females, they are quite preaceful between each others and are amazing colored when dispalying in front of the females.the population we have comes from Anchor isld Speke gulf.
Hi we have 2 colonies in France and one of them did spawn but unfortunately not mine, but it 'll not take too much time before it happens
the male grow to 10 cm adult size and have a blue irridescence in the spinous dorsal fin. I'll tell the people here to keep fry for an send to US.
Wow! Hello... What a neet little Cichlid, I have to admit this whole genus is rather new to me. In shape, they remind my of the Cyprichromis and other 'sardine" Cichlids of Tanganyika, however you say they are rockdwellers. So I take it they do not behave the same. How do they spawn?
I'm not an aquatic biologist...I just play one on the internet. -CD-AKA-Seedy
Hi, they are harem mouth brooders as almost all haplochromines are. Males can become territorial , in fact it looks more closer to Paracyprichromis in behaviors but being a little more active, mines are always searching foods and males almost not all the time diplaying courtship in front of the females.
Only the dominant male is hiding in the holes, the group staying in mid water column.
