I have a pair of Ptychochromis oligacanthus (Madagascar cichlids) in a seperate 32 gallon tank, away from the others. Would it be all right if I left mom in there with the eggs? She keeps chasing dad away. Or will that just encourage her to eat the eggs? Also, since there are no predators in the tank, how long can I keep the parent(s) in the tank with the fry? Any input would be apprciated. Thanks!
I don't know if this helps but I kept my pair in a 40 breeder, alone, with no issues. They raised fry as long as they could then I took over. Admittedly, I had marginally more success than they did. This isn't a great picture but you get the idea.
Wow, great shot. I'm excited now hehehe. How long should I leave the parents in with the fry once they hatch? Oh, also how do I feed the free swimming fry? Thanks!

I left the fry until I noticved thier numbers falling.
I fed them brine shrimp while the parents raised them and after taking them out.
