A few weeks ago I picked up four small Cichlids that I had never seen before. My LFS dealer was not able to tell me what they were since they came in a shipment as extras that he did not order.
They look something like a male Pseudotropheus "Chameleo", except that they are a dark olive green with six (6) black bands. Three are still about 1/2 inch long and spend all their time in the rocks hiding. The fourth is about an inch and a quarter long and likes to come out and explore, but the slightest movement close to him will send him back into the rocks also. Even when fed they grab a small piece and dart right back into the rocks. I've looked in all of my books and could not find a picture of one, not even in Axelrod's and Burgess AFRICAN CICHLIDS OF LAKE MALAWI. (new 13th edition) Can you help, I really like the looks of them.
Thanks, Jubal
