I looooove this fish ,pretty obvious, cause i have 11 myself
nice pix, Zigster, they look really good! how big are they?

hehe, your taste in fish is similar to mine.....Paretroplus maculatus: check. Paratilapia cf polleni/Small Spot: check. Ptychochromis oligacanthus Nosy Be: check......
now if you got the P grandidieri (East Coast Gold) and Paretroplus damii, we could double up

the last picture makes me think about Dory from Finding Nemo!

can tou make a pic wich shows the entire tank?

btw curiousity and all: tanksize, what do you feed them, waterparameters etc etc

keep it up! one of the Paratilapia will be appreciated too, cause from what I see it's in prime condition.
this species tends to loose the tiny spots and turns slate grey when it's unhappy. yours has the blue spots wich means it's doing fine.

They are all housed in a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft tank , water temp is very high around 83,84 hign PH at about 7.8 - 8 very hard water not sure of levels but my area in england has very hard water. The only thing i add is some salt !

Thanks

uhuh I love this fish

last week I spotted some good sized F1's brought back (!) to my favorite store and if they're still there next week I'll get them to enlarge my group from 11 to 17

then I also ditch some sneak-ins from the big tank that I got; and likely the Paratilapia, because unfortunately those have a permanent divorce that I can't seem to fix.

ah well; Paratilapia's are bred by more people than Paretroplus, and I also prefer the looks of Paretroplus!
spotted another batch of eggs this week, but they were unfertilized.
fertilized eggs of Paretroplus are colored, unfertilized eggs are white. 2 of my females had a lesbian tryst or the male just skipped on being useful.....

I find it hard to see who's who!
OK the one with the eggs coming out is obviously the female, but when eggpapilla are retracted all fish look exactly the same.......

beautiful pictures

as you might have guessed if you look into my Madagascar topic; this species is THE centerpiece of my tank.

the others (Paratilapia, Ptychochromis etc) are all "dithers" or "add on fish"

Paretroplus is one spectacular fish!
