Two Madagascar cichlid species, p. grandidieri and P. oligacanthus are both "in the family way" at the same time in the same tank. The 'grandidieri' have spawned on a small, triangular piece of slate, and the embryos are within a few hours of hatching. The 'oligacanthus' are guarding a very large number of their newly free-swimming fry. This is the first time i've had two different species put down spawns simultaneously. Check the female Paratilapia polleni out. She's either looking for a snack or longingly wishing that some of the babies were hers.
