Fish house extension

The shed build is well and truly complete now. I've laid some spare carpet off cut, to give the fish house that warm cosy feel.

The fish house has been holding a nice temp throughout this cold spell, very pleased.

Here's a few photos. As you can see i've a lot of space to move around and relax, no cramped fish house here.

We have similar taste in fish... that didn't sound to good LOL

I've constructed my larger tanks from wood simply because I'm a carpenter and it's what I know... I'm no mason, and building all glass tanks is too expensive for what I'm after...

Lee your tanks are amazing, and beautiful. Did you think at all about going taller than 2' ?

How big are your sponges, and what is your filtration flow rate? (I would have probably overkilled a tank like this with an enormous sump - maybe not, now).

I've seen your largest tank, certainly more cost effective constucting it from wood. Something i would like to understand more.

I'm still kind of old fasioned and glass is all i know atm.

You should start your own blog mate.

I would certainly like to go taller, but the taller you go, the thicker the glass, then the more expensive the tank.

I think that 2ft is the minimum for keeping these fish.

The filtration system are simple sponges, flow rate is around 4500 LPH.
