ID help please

Discussion about cichlids from Lake Victoria

ID help please

These fish are at sale in my local shop
the owner says its from lake Victoria but he has no name to it
are they valid specie or a hybrid ?

It looks like Pudamilia nyererei, but I can't place the location.

Hi, this fish isn't a Pundamilia nyererei but another species. Do you have pix of the females???

they had some 4 female in the tank all holding
but i didnt take any clear pic of them

Ok, thanx for the pix, it looks to me that the female morphology is intermediate between P.nyerrerei and another species. it seems that yur fish looks like an hybrid judging from the male and female body form and color.

I was afraid it was hybrid so I did not buy them from the shop
I talked about this before in the shop that they might be hybrid but they dont care so they will have them for sale in future sinse they are breeding them :shock:
