Planning a 30 gallon malawi tank

I am limited to 30 gallons and was thinking 3 yellow fin acei (one male, two female) and 3 yellow labs (one male, two female), starting them all off as juveniles with cichlid sand, rocks, 100 watt jeager heater and 204 fluval filter, with another empty 10 gallon tank with cichlid sand 50 watt jeager heater and a whisper filter, so the water can be checked and correct conditions prior to a water change once a week or every other week after the first month of establishment.
Suggestions to this idea?
