Can't quite tell from the angle of the picture but, most likely a member of Tropheops. Difficult to pinpoint species, but it does have a resemblance to what was in the trade here as T. sp 'mumbo'.

I think the fish known as sp "Mumbo" was actually a Petrotilapia, and the fish on this pic does resemble something from that genus - although it looks over-fed). I think that all Tropheops have a narrow white band in the dorsal fin.

You found it in -80 celcius??? Or did you mean -8? Just being curious :)

No...Tropheops sp mumbo
http://www.cichlidae.com/gallery/species.php?id=2621

Although, relative to the picture loaded to the profile here, the caudal fin coloration is inconsistant.

I think that all Tropheops have a narrow white band in the dorsal fin.

Sorry, but that would be completely erroneous information.

Roger that! It does look a lot like it. I'm still very curious where it was found though :)

Hy Serge,

thanks a lot the fish really looks a lot like Tropheops sp.... It was found (no tipo) in -80°c freezer. I work at a University and we keep certain fish in minus 80 to preserve their RNA for a longer time. This one I found in there and nobody knows how it got there...

??? are you sure ? I don't see any Trapheops head shape in this fish.

I see an overfeed fish, that's sure.
From the begining it seems to me that it as some caracteristics of saulosi.
