Breathtaking! Lately I have been having a lot more interest in Africans.

While I'm sure that there are a lot of people who will say that Firefish (and other fancy cichlids) are the first step toward the apocolypse, it's hard to argue that they're not colorful, beautiful fish. Mother Nature didn't make them. But neither did She make fancy livebearers, bettas, etc, etc.

The sky isn't falling. It's one more fancy fish!

Agree with dogofwar. It's not 'my thing' either, but I don't see much harm in hybrids as these (unlike monstrosities like the 'red parrot' or whatever they're called). It's a matter of taste. Colourful indeed! The red one is very nice!

As long as they are not sold as a newly discovered species or as imposter of real natural species then they are ok.
