Habitat for exCichlasoma gephyrum/ornatum

I have 5 largest 5-6" of the Rapps gephyrum/ornatum from San Juan . I dont want to get into the debate on what they are i was just wondering what sort of habitat they come from . Questions i have if people know any of the answers woudl be much appreciated

1. Water Parameters PH,GH flast Flowing etc
2. Biotope information ie lots of wood, rocks etc
3. Natural fish occurring in the wild with these ?

The fishes come from the Pacific side of south america. There the rivers are relatively short, and the water is not your typical water for an Amazon tank, it is harder and the pH is higher

Such a tank will resemble a tank for central American fishes more then one for Amazon fishes: Quite a few boulders, supporting a few fallen trees and fast flowing water in most places
