Ivanacara bimaculata

Ichthyologist Nathan Lujan and his crew just published a set of photos from a recent Guyana expedition. One of the species they found was Ivanacara bimaculata, a fish not seen many times before. I have only seen pics of this species once before, those fish belonged to Vermeulen in Holland but were all females I think. As far as I know, no-one has collected them since.

Oh that is great news! Let's hope this species will finally find its way to the hobby. Thanks for sharing.

It would be nice if it did, but this time I don't think any live specimens were brought out. Lujan would be glad to share the location in detail though, and said the species was found in good numbers there. So, does anybody know some people in Guyana? :D
