A blackwater fish combined with Thorichthys meeki - hard and high pH and Nandopsis tetracanthus - idem, but temp higher than 28 C?

Sorry. The fish looks good - for now - but the combination is worst then terrible.

It's like putting a sea-horse in a stable

The fish looks good but I have to say that I too have been thinking of ways to go about lowering my overall PH. I didn't really think mine was that bad until reading some Psittacus posts on this board.

Here's my old pair and what happens when they are kept in soft, acidic, very warm water with a high level of tanins.

$200 is a lot of money for such a plain brown fish. It must be really rare. I'll take 4!!

I think hoplarchus are the most beatiful cichlids I know... a lot of people I know said me hoplarchus have to live in soft and acidic water... like uaru... otherwise they could get the hole-in-the-head
I don' t know if i wrote it right

Beautiful fish and tank Marcus! What kind of leaves were those?

A few of mine, also kept in soft water :)
