Crenicichla ID.

Can anyone ID this pike?

The picture belongs to Sas aquafish located in colombia.

The spotting on the face is something I havent seen before. Its 25 cm.

Very tough to tell from that angle but it is reminiscent of one of the lenticulata races.
$200 is a lot of money for such a plain brown fish. It must be really rare. I'll take 4!!

But shouldent it have vertical stripes then?

Yes, this creni is quite stressed but I see vertical bars.

Aquarium Glaser have some fish like this one. Look like a mix between C. aff lugubris Atabapo and C. lenticulata but Oliver Lucanus believe it's a new species from Sipapo because all those fishes look the same

They call it : Crenicichla cf. lugubris Red / Spotted Face

Oliver Lucanus show a picture of an adult, the fish loose the black dots, so it look like Crenicichla lugubris

From what I recall, uploaded images maximum size is currently 256KB.
You may use any graphic application to make the pictures smaller if need be. You could make then 800 pixels wide, which let you stay under the 256KB.

You could upload them to a free site and post the image link, but we prefer you upload it since the image links depend on whether or not you keep those pictures on the free site. If you need any help, ask away.
