Then I corrected my mistake. I have a 30 gallon tank with a Carpintis, a Jack Dempsy, a Convict, 3 Firemouths, and 2 plecos. They are all small thriving and growing a little faster than I had anticipated. I purchased a beautiful 72 gallon bowfront with stand that I am going to pick up in two days, which will result in having to also purchase a bigger filter (the one I have is for a 30-60 gallon). I don't want to add another small filter because I am going to relocate the 30 gallon. The 72 gallon is going in the same space where the 30 gallon is now, so here is my question:
What is the safest way to make this move? I don't want to lose all the bacteria that I have in the 30 gallon, and I don't have the room to keep the 30 gallon up while I cycle the 72 gallon. Should I buy a new filter pump and set it on the lowest setting and continue to run my old filter on the 72 gallon? I don't want to lose my fish by making a mistake again.
Thanks!
