Nice looking micros you have there. Curious as to how the kitumbas and the Kilesas get along, and what about cross breeding between the two types of cyps?
Have you observed any?

Are cichlids popular in China? How do you obtain them?

Beautiful fish! I especially like the cyp males.

I would also be interested to hear more about the cichlid hobby in Beijing.

Here in the US you don't usually see cichlids from Lake Tanganyika in common pet stores. Some people might be lucky and live close to a specialty store, but most of us get them through clubs or we order them online. But I guess Beijing is a big city. Can you buy the cichlids you have in a store if you know where the right stores are?

Many thanks for your response. Your English is very good. I know a shop in Germany that has exported fish to China, but I did not ask to what province or city. The store is www.maltavi.de. Their web site is not very good, and only in German, but they have very nice fish. I think they probably sold the fish to the stores in China. Maltavi imports fish from Africa and also breeds some in Germany.
